THE ORANGE CIRCLE TEAM
Adrian Karatnycky, Founder and President of the Orange Circle, served for over a decade as Executive Director and President of Freedom House, a leading U.S-based non-governmental organization that monitors and promotes democratic change. At Freedom House, Mr. Karatnycky presided over major analytic research projects like the Survey of Freedom in the World and the Nations in Transit annual reports, and devised assistance programs to democratic civic groups and think tanks in Central and Eastern Europe, opening the Freedom House Kyiv office in 1993. He is co-author of three books and a contributor to such publication as The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Foreign Affairs, and the International Herald Tribune, and has appeared on CNN, the PBS Newshour, and ABC's Nightline as a Ukraine expert. Most recently, he has founded a consulting company Myrmidon Group, which provides advisory services to investors and corporations seeking cooperation opportunities in Ukraine and Eastern Europe.
Adrianna Melnyk, a former management consultant and most recently a Manager of Interactive Strategy at American Express, is the Orange Circle's Director of Research and Outreach. Ms. Melnyk holds a B.A. in Economics from Columbia College of Columbia University and a Master of International Affairs from Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs.
Myroslava Luzina is the Orange Circle's representative in Ukraine, providing organizational and research support and managing the OC website.
She holds an MA in philology from the Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University and an MBA from the Kyiv Mohyla Business School. Her job experience includes positions of a university teacher and of a parliamentary staff member for a leading Ukrainian legislator and former foreign minister; she has also done a prestigious half-year internship at the German Bundestag. She is fluent in English, German, Ukrainian, and Russian. In 2008, Myroslava expects to complete a law degree.
